Mindset for Business
Learn to do this and you will Prosper!
I was never good at talking on the phone about business/marketing/opportunities. Do you find it hard to talk to associates or business seekers on the phone, getting hung up on, or not knowing how to handle objections?
Time after time, I would basically get laughed at followed by am immediate “Click”.
I just couldn’t figure it out. What was I doing wrong? There were so many people out there that were effortlessly sponsoring people on the phone. Remember if you are in mlm or network marketing you will eventually have to speak to someone.
I did this for what seemed like a lifetime. I wasn’t getting anywhere with my business, basically sponsoring one or two every now and then.
Recruiting, sponsoring, finding business partners is not an easy thing to do.
But then I found something that changed the way I talked to prospects forever. It was a video interview with Mike Dillard, and master recruiter Mark Wieser.
In this video Mark get grilled by Mike on how he is able to personally sponsor over 254 reps in one year and how he is able to do it with such ease.
I figured out that I needed to change the way that I was talking to the prospects. I needed to qualify them to see if they are right for my business, not if they would be interested in joining.
I also figured out that I am the boss, I need to control the situation, I am interviewing my prospects to see if they would be good enough to be part of my business.
Basically think of it as if you were the manager interviewing to hire a new employee.
By changing the way that I approach the conversation and the attitude that I have in the conversation, I am now not getting hung up on. I am sponsoring more than ever. Prospects are actually thanking me for the conversations that we have.
Sponsoring and talking to prospects doesn’t have to be hard, frustrating, or filled with rejection.
All you need to know is how to do it the right way, the fun way, from someone that knows how to do it and do it well.
So if you would like to learn how I overcame my fear of talking to prospects on the phone, now sponsor more than ever, and how I never hear the word no again, then you need to get your hands on this free 1 hour video interview.

Setting up your Business at Home.
Setting up a home-based business may be a more cost-effective alternative to setting up a major company, but it may still drain the limited resources of a small business owner. To keep the business going, small business loans will definitely be necessary. These can be availed of through credit card services. This article will show you how.First, you need to set up your home based business. Do your research on the type of business you want to establish. Find out what licensing and zoning requirements you need to meet and ensure that you meet them all. Do not attempt to cut corners here.
Get the services of an accountant, even if only on a consultancy basis, to help you set up your books and records correctly from the start. Ask for help in determining deductions so that you can plan on your business expenses. Establish a routine for keeping strict records of all income and expenses right from day one. Keep all business related receipts, invoices, client records, bank statements, bank deposit slips and canceled checks.
Being home-based, you need to set aside a particular place in your home just for your business. Make sure it can accommodate all the necessary equipment. Check that you have the appropriate electrical outlets and have them installed if needed to avoid overloading your system. Set up rules to keep the area insulated from household noise and disturbances.
Have a business phone installed that is separate from your residential line. Avoid having your children answer the business line. Install an answering machine to take calls when you are out or occupied.
Get a post office box so that you can use that address in your official stationery and other documents, keeping your business profile professional. Hold client meetings in rented conference rooms or set business meetings in good restaurants.
One of the most important steps in setting up your home-based business is to acquire credit card services that will enable you to accept credit card payments and debit card payments. These credit card services provide all the necessary software and hardware for you to be able to process payments in person, online or by phone. This step alone already expands the customer base that you can access.
Credit card services will also serve you well once your home-based business begins to feel the need for additional capital. When you need to get small business loans, you will not have to approach banks which are most likely not sympathetic to small home-based businesses.
The need for small business loans usually comes when the home-based business is already at least a year old. At such time, your home-based business would have created an average monthly credit card sales record with your credit card services company. You can refer to that when you approach your credit card services company for small business loans, sometimes called cash advances.
Credit card services do offer small business loans to their clients based on average monthly credit card sales, without the need for any collateral. The aforementioned average monthly credit card sales guarantee your company’s capability to pay the small business loans. Payments will be automatically deducted as a percentage of future credit card sales. This arrangement frees you from worrying about the amortization for your small business loans, too.
As soon as you pay off your small business loans completely, you are automatically eligible for new small business loans for as long as your home-based business is getting a good monthly average in credit card sales. With the help of credit card services, you can continue to expand and grow your home-based business.
Are you looking for the Holy Grail? Then you Want Passive Income!
What are some examples of passive income? Well many people argue that there is no such thing, that in order for you to make money then real wealth must be generated in the form of work or labor at some point. While this might be true, we can still put things on a continuum of passive income on one end, and active work on the other end.
For example, earning interest on a big pile of savings is pretty much 100 percent passive. Likewise, if you own a business and you pay someone a salary to manage and handle all aspects of that business, then the money earned from that business is pretty much passive. The only thing you have to do is “manage the manager.” It’s entirely hands off for you and for the most part you don’t have to lift a finger.
And of course there is the other end of the spectrum where you are slaving away for 40 hours plus each week at your day job, trading away the hours of your life for dollars so that you can continue to live in comfort. That is the ugly end of the spectrum, the one that all of you probably know too well.
So how can we shift towards more passive income? How can we get off the slave labor merry-go-round?
What are some of these coveted passive income opportunities?
In order to uncover those and pursue them, you will have to do some upfront work. Yes this goes against the idea of “passive” but essentially we want to build a money making system that continues to pay us over and over again.
One way to do that is with vending machines. Buy some vending machines, fill them with stock, secure a location for them, and let the money roll in. Yes there are some steps involved there, as well as some up front investment, but there are people out there who make a good living with this. There is also maintenance involved as you either have to stock the machines and collect the money yourself or pay someone else to do it. But it’s an idea; a system that can be scaled out to generate alternate income.
The internet provides systems like this that are ripe for passive income. Anyone can start a blog for free and then monetize it with advertisements. If you can build traffic to such a website then you can make money from the advertising. The beauty of a system like this is that there is almost infinite scale and an infinite amount of topics with which to target. Not only that but you can certainly learn how to do all this for free simply by browsing the web.
It is true that such a system is not passive but it is quite a ways down the scale towards being passive. If you can build up a network of money making websites then eventually you can pay someone else to manage them for you and the income will be truly passive at that point. As it is now I have a very respectable part time income coming in from only three and half hours of work per week using these ideas.
Earning Residual Income – is easier than you think….
Signing up for an affiliate program usually only takes a few minutes and once you have an affiliate link you can start earning commissions immediately. Many people think that residual income takes a long time for results but in fact can be very fast because you earn commissions on the first sale as well and not just the re-orders and re-bills.
Earning residual income is as easy as getting people to click your link and place an order or start a subscription with the merchant. You can include affiliate links and product recommendations in newsletters, forum posts, directories, articles, and email marketing.
You’ve probably seen the pyramid schemes and MLM programs advertising fast residual income but that also requires you to pay each month to stay in the program as well as actively recruit new members. Each time a new member joins, you earn residual income from the fees they pay. The idea is that people under you earn you money which is great if you are at the top of the pyramid but terrible if you are lower down where there’s nobody else to recruit. Not only are these programs usually illegal because no product is being interchanged, they can be a losing venture if you don’t recruit enough people to the program. True residual income earns you future money for your past effort. Instead, all money stops as soon as you stop paying your monthly fee.
Earning reliable and free residual income stream from home is totally possible. Lots of businesses offer residual income affiliate programs that anyone can join. Products with monthly subscriptions and re-billing are good examples where businesses are willing to compensate affiliates with residual income commissions for as long as a customer you sent to them continues to subscribe. For example, gambling, web hosting, adult website, and Internet dating merchants are good candidates for offering monthly residual income. But this is just the start. Lots of merchants that don’t have monthly re-billing still offer residual income for returning customers who place re-orders. So a customer who purchases a product today and then returns three months down the road to order again will earn you commissions on both orders. Examples of this type of residual income are jewelers, herbal supplement companies, and clothing stores but the list of merchants is extensive. I recommend you search Google or visit a free residual income directory dedicated to residual income opportunities. I am involved with and use Global Resorts Network as my primary business and for my vacations. It is the best of both worlds; an income generating business and a discount travel repository of 5 Star resorts, cruises, exclusive resorts all for substantial savings.
Earning fast free residual income is as easy as finding a business that offers residual income and having receptive people click your affiliate link. The link works immediately and costs you nothing to use. There are thousands of companies that offer free residual income affiliate programs for a multitude of different products. Once you find one that you’re comfortable with and that’s relevant, all you have to do is get customers from your emails, website, or newsletters to follow your recommendations and purchase from the merchant. Before you know it, you’ll be generating fast free monthly residual income from a home-based business.
Wealth Formula – Use it to Your Advantage.
These are:
Wealth Mindset
Wealth Knowledge
Wealth Planning
Wealth Action
It links each of these four component through the plus sign, +, which signifies that each of the four components are necessary for you to create wealth. In other words, missing one or more of the four wealth components will dramatically impact your ability to generate wealth.
For example, you could mentally prepare yourself, learn everything you need to make enormous wealth and create the most detailed plan to achieve your desired level of wealth, but if you don’t action it then all that preparation is worthless.
Similarly, if you mentally prepare yourself, learn everything you need to make enormous wealth and run off taking action with your new-found mindset and knowledge but fail to make a plan it is like setting off in your car to go somewhere you’ve never been without taking a map. What’s your wealth destination? How will you know if you’ve achieved what you wanted to achieve? How do you know your using the right investment vehicle? How do you know if you’re on track or not to reach your target? Are you surpassing or underachieving against realistic milestones? All of these questions would be easily answered with proper planning.
So let’s look at each of the four wealth creation categories in turn.
Wealth mindset:
Wealth Mindset is the first of the four wealth creation categories and examines the importance of the correct mindset to creating wealth and financial freedom. Wealth mindset covers the interaction between you and your environment and the process of adjusting your thought process to think like the wealthy.
For example, the poor and middle class generally think that money is scarce and hard to come by. Saying such as “Money doesn’t grow on trees” and “I can’t afford that” spring to mind. The wealthy see a world of opportunity and abundance. They see money as little more than a concept and simply the by-product of providing value to others. They also know that offering value to others is only limited by their imagination and thus money must too only be limited by their imagination. The wealthiest people of the planet simply understand this and have incredible imaginations that create amazing value to others.
For example, Jeff Bezos realised that bookstores were severely limited in the amount of books they could offer their customers due to geographic and physical constraints. In other words bookstores could only service customers that lived near them and could only offer a limited amount of books, which fit in their store. He saw an amazing opportunity to solve these two problems by giving access to anyone anywhere via the Internet and offering a catalogue that is 40 times the size of a large bookstore. Jeff founded the multi-billion dollar company Amazon!
Wealth Knowledge:
Wealth knowledge is the second of the four wealth creation categories and examines the financial knowledge that is essential to create wealth and financial freedom. It is essential for wealth creation that you are knowledgeable about your own personal finances, the economy, the psychology of markets, compound interest and the asset classes and investment products available to you. Further, you need to understand how to interpret financial statements, investment strategies and risk management all from the wealth creation perspective.
Wealth Planning:
Wealth planning is the third of the four wealth creation categories and examines the essential component of planning to create wealth and financial freedom. Wealth planning is absolutely essential, yet on 3% of the population has clearly written goals and plans. A Harvard Business School study found that this 3% earned 10 times the average of the other 97% and they accumulated 98% of the wealth.
Wealth Action:
Wealth Action is the forth and final wealth creation category and examines the element of action in your wealth journey to create wealth and financial freedom. The importance of action to achieving wealth is obvious. Nothing can be achieved without action.
By using the wealth formula you can easily learn where your wealth creation strengths and weaknesses are and where you need to concentrate your efforts at improving.
The Illusion of Wealth.
Wealth, prosperity, abundance or the illusion thereof that our debt laden society provides, has not led us to have more leisure time, as was forecast a generation ago, nor has it helped us live better lives, build better relationships, or build better businesses and organizations. The average American CEO has a tenure of two years, and one in five North Americans suffers from the physical or emotional ravages of stress.
After our survival needs have been met, success cannot be realized by the simple financial bottom line but is the derivative of the purpose, passion and potential we express in our personal lives and in our jobs.
The fundamental basis for human success can be addressed to the basic human desire to validate our existence not by what we get, but rather by what we can give. Our greatest pain does not come from what we cannot have, but rather from the invalidation that we feel, at not expressing our potential in our lives and our work. Potential that can only be expunged and expressed when we go back to the simple truth that the values that are most near and dear to us are the fabric that builds gratification and significant success. Values that remain more important than ever in a society where stress and discontent fill our lives, our workplaces and our communities. Values that can lead us to create a better bridge between our heads and our hearts, between the power that exists when we align our best self with our best work and focus on our power to create our best world.
Often we are too busy, too pressured or too distracted to think about the basic simple fact that the values that we hold close to heart will EITHER conflict with the way we are living and working and cause us undue stress and inner conflict OR alternatively, we can nurture and grow those values to help us decrease stress and increase success in our lives and our businesses.
It is time to begin again to build our lives, businesses and organizations that mirror the universal values that speak to a evolution of self, an evolution of leadership, and an organic evolution of business organizations — we can do this by creating a values bridge between what is and what can be: a better self, a better life, a better business and a better world.
How much stronger would you feel if you took your best self to work and to play each day, by living the values that you set and that you believe in?
How much more streamlined and efficient would your organization be if you could live and work by your convictions and standards in real life and real time?
Here are five questions to ponder.
Five questions that can help you plant the seeds for more success and less stress:
A. What is your intent/vision and how is this intent channeled in your personal life and your work?
B. What is your greatest fear/stressor and how does this fear/stressor limit your personal and professional vision and your potential?
C. What are your three most important values?
D. What can you do today to eliminate the fear/stress by bringing your three most important values to life in your personal and professional surroundings?
E. When are you going to take action? Today? Tomorrow? Next Week?….
Answer those truthfully and you have taken the first step on your journey to Success.
You will soon be paving your own pathway to enrichment in both your personal and business surroundings.
Remember that it is not so much the goal at the end – but the journey in getting there.
Tired Of The Old School Network Marketing Techniques?
Are you tired of the old school network marketing techniques? You know the 3 foot rule, hanging flyers, bugging your family and friends, and holding hotel meetings.
I know that when I first joined my first network marketing company, I was told to use these same techniques. I was told to make a list of 100 people that I knew and basically call every one of them to ask and see if they would be interested in making some extra money.
I was only faced with questions I wasn’t able to answer, getting hung up on, and faced with nothing but rejection.
When I was officially shunned by everyone that I knew, all my upline told me to do was to go out and buy some opportunity leads.
This only led me to some more rejection and spending a bunch of money.
Now I was out of money, and had nothing to show for it.
Then just as I was going to give up, I found what I consider to be the “life saver” for my business. This life saver I speak of was Mike Dillard’s 7 Day Free Video Boot Camp.
In these 7 free videos Mike explained how I could attract an endless stream of prospects to me ready to join and actually get paid to prospect.
These videos have really changed the way I do my business, and I think they can help you too.

Selling Yourself | Not your Opportunity
Are you trying too hard? Do you find yourself grasping for that next sale or customer?
That may be the biggest mistake you can make in trying to increase your sales volume or attract customers. People are very wary nowadays, specially in this economy. They want their dollars to provide them something of value, something that they can say – ‘hey – I got my money’s worth from that business’.
If you are selling and promoting your opportunity or product without first selling yourself – then people whom are not familiar with who you are are not going to be that willing to open their pocketbooks and shell out their hard earned dollars. First promote yourself, promote from your heart, offer a solution too what people are needing a fix for. Show people what you stand for, provide them honest and concise information, give them value | Not value from your business or product side – but value from a human side.
Some websites and business systems are so automated that you sometimes get the feeling you are working with or for a robot:
“Prospects enter here. Input info here. Wait for email and follow instructions. Give me money and I will make you rich”.
To an extent automation is good but there still should be a human side – A side with some emotion and feeling.
I would rather deal with a business that has a human brain behind it rather than an automated program that filters everything coming in and going out. I want to know that there is somebody I can call or contact to get help or information from when needed.
If you sell and promote yourself – I feel you show a more open side of you and your business opportunity.
People may or may not like you depending on your personality – but wouldn’t you rather have people that like you and know a little bit about you – working with you?
So if you are going to sell – sell the person not the business. Sell the human element – not the automation.
Make business about people and not the money.
Change your Life/Business with these 4 statements.
‘We all have ways of testing opportunities that enter our lives. Some of us dive right in based on feeling, others walk straight in to what we know is right by a gut feeling or intuition. And if it’s not gut feelings or emotions that are the tests of opportunities, it is the logical mind persuading us to ignore those feelings and emotions and test it with our reality of reason.
Do you have a predetermined strategy for testing opportunities, or even more generally to test the actions you take and the choices you make in your lives.
Consider the statement below:
“Of the things we say, think or do:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”
There is an easier way to determine if our choices we make and the opportunities we receive ‘pass the test’. The above statement of business ethics was first created in the 1930s and used to turn around a failing company. These four questions were applied by each employee to each and to every minute detail of the company’s workings. This little list of four questions from Rotary International, a humanitarian business organization, is the most widely printed, translated and reproduced piece of business ethics today:
Because of our societal influences, we most often are inclined to make choices and act based on a competitive mind. This comes from the perspective of lack, scarcity, and ultimately greed.
If we built businesses and our lives based on these simple 4 questions we would be coming from a place the opposite of the competitive mind and the lack mentality. As you can see, these questions prompt you to pick what is true, fair, and nice, making choices that can build friendships and goodwill. It helps us to see how the choices we make can be beneficial to all concerned.
The competitive model encourages people to rely on a source outside of themselves to give them what we require. This denies the power of their own ability to generate what we need. This narrow focus shows we are choosing to ignore the possibility of generating this opportunity in their own lives, instead of trying to win the spot from millions of others.
Any opportunity based on the model of competition will simply not pass the test. Competition promotes strife. It embodies winning. taking it away from all the other people who need it. It misleads people to believing there is only one chance for success, when in reality there is plenty for all. Do you want the whole pie or just a slice of it? Do you share or are you selfish?
I invite you to use these questions to test your actions and opportunities in your life. If you are seeking opportunity, these questions may help you see things in a different way. In doing this, perhaps you might find an opportunity in your life which truly allows you to benefit the world, while simultaneously reaching whatever your dreams, goals, and desires are.
This simple testing technique takes us out of the competitive mind of greed, scarcity and lack. It turns our thoughts and choices toward the positive, realizing there are opportunities we can take that can provide increase for all concerned.’
Plan Your Success – Business or Personal
As soon as you discovered your passions in life, you would then need to recast your priorities so that you are brought in order with your purpose in life. With your purpose, you can get the directions in your life without fear of being lost. Sure, there are a lot of things that might go wrong along the way, but this is all a part of the process of working for your goals. You had better embrace this process. Otherwise, the process becomes boring too. You need to take a look at your present situation and take stock of where you are.
What have you achieved so far? The years will not retreat. If you are still young, well and good, you still have plenty of years to pursue your passion and discover the meaning of your life. If you are already in your middle years, do not worry, you can still find your purpose and work at finding meaning as long as you are willing. This process of taking note of where you are is important. It enables you to know precisely where you are. After all, you cannot get to where you want to be unless you know where you are.
After analyzing where you are, you better understand the path you have to take. Once you have discovered your purpose, it becomes your roadmap to where you want to go. The roadmap to your dreams can be discovered by a purposeful searching within yourself of what you want to do and what you intend to achieve. More than the achievement though, you also need to plot the steps that you take. It does not matter if the steps are small ones as long as you are progressing and moving towards your goals. If you are truly willing to achieve your goals, you need to make progress everyday even if those steps are but simple ones. Just like drops of water on a bucket, when they are gathered, they will fill the bucket up. Whether it be for business, personal goals or just something you are passionate about let that bucket overflow.
Remember though that achieving the goal is but a part of the process, the journey is more enjoyable than the process of arriving at the destination.
The journey helps develop your character and your qualities such that you become more focused in achieving your dreams and your goals in life. When you have taken a good look at where you are and you feel disappointed, that is well and good. But do not forget that you are in the business of pursuing your dreams and your goals. With perseverance and character, you can get from here to there.
