Hate Work Stress? Be Your Own Boss

According to studies, 25% of employees view their jobs as the number one stressor in their lives and 75% of employees believe the worker has more on-the-job stress than a generation ago. Working at home reduces the amount of stress that is normally associated with working for someone else. Stress can make you feel physically sick, that is why so many working days are lost to stress in today’s environment.
The answer to this harrowing issue is to make money at home by starting your own business. There are many benefits to being an entrepreneur, but above all else, the idea of having to suffer and get sick with someone else reaping the profits is just terrible. Do yourself a favor: be your own boss.
DIY: Website Promotion
Website promotion suggests that submitting your site to directories first is more important than submitting to search engines. These two are different in such a way that sites submitted to directories are only approved if it has high quality and useful content, whereas search engines just simply accept submissions of sites or pages. In submitting a website to the directory, make sure that you read and follow the directory’s rules and instructions. Keep in mind that the editors will be very discerning of your web content.
Submitting to search engines definitely helps in website promotion but this takes quite a while, usually around 3-6 months. There are things to consider when submitting to search engines, you must prepare your website. Also, you will need to learn SEO or search engine optimization. You may do this by optimizing your website by improving the elements of web design like loading time, browser compatibility, etc. Another is keyword optimization wherein you make use of appropriate keywords; these would greatly help in your website.
Other website promotion techniques are:
• Link popularity – wherein you let people link your site to theirs. In this way, you can generate more new visitors and at the same time improve your ranking in search engines.
• Write articles – that are useful to your website and let other people publish these like in article directories. You may also opt for email newsletters that include a link to your website. In this way, your subscribers are informed and updated on what’s going on in your website promotion.
• Post to a forum or discussion boards. Forums are greatly increasing their popularity and this is a good way to spread the word about your website promotion.
• In line with posting a forum, you may also want to use a signature file, a text that is appended at the end of your every post.
• Improve website promotion through banner ads displayed in other websites related to your content. But be sure that your ad is well-designed.
• Write a press release – this can definitely help in website promotion. You have to write an article about your website and submit it to different publications and you’ll get new visitors in no time at all!
Now you know what to do, know what you have to avoid as well. One of the common mistakes made is relying on free web hosting service. It’s harder for search engines to detect your website if it is hosted on a free host. If you mean serious business and eyeing it as long-term, then paid web hosting is the way to go. There are some companies that promise to submit your website to thousands of search engines at a very low price, do not be fooled. Majority of these directories and engines have very minimal traffic. Website promotion can be tricky but with good research, you and your business will succeed before you know it.
Passive income, residual income , part-time income, supplimental income: that’s alot of income but it can be created with the right exposure and marketing. Everyone wants to create a wealth system or to learn to make money at home. Educate yourself and make sure you promote your business ethically.

Attracting Greater Wealth with 12 Commandments
Have you earned what you are worth? Ever? What value to you place on your time and knoweldge? Did you earn what you deserve in 2008? Most people do not earn what they are worth nor do they get recognized for their accomplishments or achievements. If you take action and utilize these simple yet powerful concepts you can attract greater wealth in your life in 2009 and beyond! This article exerpt is courtesy of David Bach – The Automatic Millionaire. It offers great insight into how we think and what we can do to change our own destiny. Apply these commandments to your business, work from home opportunity and yourself and see the changes that manafest.
COMMANDMENT 1
WHATEVER YOU EARN RIGHT NOW IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU ACCEPTED.
People constantly complain about how much money they make-or, rather, how much they don’t make. I call them the gripers. They say things like “My boss doesn’t appreciate me,” or “I haven’t gotten a raise in over a year,” or “All my hard work and effort goes unnoticed,” or “If only I worked for XYZ Company, I’d make twice what I’m a making now,” or-and this is the classic line-”I’m in a dead-end career going nowhere.” For the next 30 days I want you to say to yourself whenever you hear one of these people going on about how lousy his or her situation is: “If their work is so unappreciated, they should get off their collective butts and change their destiny.”
COMMANDMENT 2
SOCIETY REWARDS PEOPLE WHO ADD VALUE.
The single greatest way to increase your income is to add value. I learned this important lesson from motivational speaker Zig Zigler. Zig says that in order for you to get out of life what you want, you have to help other people get out of life what they want. Even if you never did anything else of note, this one action would boost your standing with your boss or client. (By the way, this works with significant others and children too.)
COMMANDMENT 3
DISCOVER WHAT MAKES YOU UNIQUELY VALUABLE.
We are all blessed with special talents that make us unique. Some people discover their talent at a young age and from then on focus their lives on honing it until they are rewarded by society.
The question you need to ask yourself (or ask others who know you) is what makes you uniquely valuable. What is it that you have to offer? Chances are there is something that you love doing. Most likely it’s something you’re good at. The point is, if you focus on this thing you love doing, you can become uniquely valuable enough at it that you can be paid significantly to do it.
COMMANDMENT 4
DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME ON THINGS OTHER PEOPLE SHOULD BE DOING FOR YOU.
Time is our most precious asset. Yet most people waste it doing stuff that someone else can do. Figure out what you make an hour and then never do something that you can pay someone else less to do.
COMMANDMENT 5
CLEAN UP THE MESSES IN YOUR LIFE.
Whether it’s at home or at work most people are slowed down by the messes that clutter their space. Consider cleaning your office first! According to time-management expert Jeffrey Mayer, author of Time Management for Dummies, most people spend about an hour a day looking for papers that are lost on the top of their desks-60 percent of which aren’t needed anyway! Now, think about this for a second. If the average person is really spending an hour a day looking for stuff, that’s about 22 hours a month, or 264 hours a year, down the drain. That’s a whole month of working time.
The messes in your life don’t stop at the office. You should clean up your home as well.
COMMANDMENT 6
ASK YOURSELF…WHERE DO YOU WANT TO BE FINANCIALLY IN THREE YEARS?
One of the greatest things you can do is to get really clear on your direction. To assist my clients and help them do this I always ask them the following question…If we were getting together three years from today, what would you want to see happen in your life to feel you had made great financial progress?
Some people call this goal setting. I call it life planning. Why write it down? Well as motivational expert Anthony Robbins taught me, if your life is worth living its worth recording!
COMMANDMENT 7
INVEST IN YOURSELF.
For some reason, once most people leave school (and it does not matter whether we’re talking about high school, college, or graduate school), they stop valuing the process of learning. I think this is a big mistake. The common denominator among really successful people is that they consistently seek new skills and better tools. Less than 5 percent of Americans read books like this one. They can propel you to a higher quality of life and happiness.
COMMANDMENT 8
LEARN TO BE A “GO-GIVER.”
John Templeton, the billionaire investor and renowned philanthropist, once said that the key to life is not to be a go-getter but a “go-giver.” This one statement changed my life. It is so easy to get caught up in whatever it is we are trying to accomplish, which often leads us to believe that we should be a go-getter. But a go-getter focuses on getting. A go-giver focuses on giving.
I’m not just talking about giving financially to charity but also about giving time to the people who need it. This can even start at home with your children or at the office with a new employee. Seek to be the person who is there with a helping hand.
COMMANDMENT 9
MAKE A DECISION.
Your financial future can be shaped the moment you make a financial decision. Remember the basic philosophy of Smart People Finish Rich: When it comes to your future, you can be either proactive or reactive. Most people never make up their minds about the things that are important to them. So ask yourself: What’s one big decision have I been avoiding? I suggest that you stop avoiding it and act on it in 2009.
COMMANDMENT 10
FOCUS ON BEING A “GO-TO PERSON.”
In sports, certain athletes are known as “go-to guys/gals.” These are the players who can be counted on to deliver in a pinch. The idea is that when the game is on the line, others give the ball to the guy/gal who can make the play.
COMMANDMENT 11
TO MAKE MORE MONEY, YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR MORE MONEY.
In sales, they say the key to success is learning that you have to ask for the order. But salespeople aren’t the only ones who need to learn that lesson. Everything in life that’s important requires you to “ask for the order.” From getting promoted to getting your children to pick up their clothes, you’re not going to get what you really want if you don’t ask for it. Yes, if you do all the other commandments I’ve listed, you’re bound to be rewarded in some way or another-but if you are going to be able to charge your customer more or get that raise you want and deserve, ultimately you’re going to have to ask for it.
COMMANDMENT 12
LIVE BY THE PHILOSOPHY OF MIHN!
MIHN stands for Make It Happen Now! In life I believe there are really four types of people. Those who watch things happen, those who wonder what happened, those who complain about what happened, and those who MAKE THINGS HAPPEN NOW! As you go about your life, ask yourself regularly which person are you being. Life is not a dress rehearsal. You get in life exactly what you go for. I say the heck with being a spectator and jump in.
Remember to stop and smell the roses too! Life is not just about money and wealth creation. You shouldn’t get so consumed with your financial journey that you don’t spend enough time-sharing moments with the people you love and doing the things that you have passion for.

Traffic, Traffic, Traffic…
Your website, business, blog or online opportunity is useless unless you have eyes looking upon what you have to offer, sell or tell. Getting people to you is the most frustrating thing about having an online business. Creating a wealth system or a internet marketing empire takes patience, fortitude and the ability to learn from your mistakes. It is not done overnight and there is no such thing as a get rich quick scheme that actually works.
What you want to do is create residual long term income that you can count on in the future. Multiple streams of income, a product or service that is marketable and also something that people want or can use. Once you have that – then you need to share it.
Here are some Options for you:
Option #1 – Buy Traffic: Currently, the fastest way to get traffic to any website involves using the little classified ads on the right side of search giant Google’s results pages. PPC or Pay Per Click advertising is one of the fastest ways to generator traffic but be careful to use a budget and to monitor your results constantly. PPC is tricky.
Option #2 – Borrow Traffic: If you need traffic to a website, then borrow it from people who already have it… especially people with lists of loyal subscribers or traffic from search engines, affiliates, or other steady sources. Getting “Endorsed Mailings” and “Reciprocal Linking” by other people represent a couple of the fastest ways to use someone else’s traffic.
Option #3 – Recycle Traffic: The most economical way to get traffic involves turning one-time visitors into regular, repeat visitors that you direct to multiple sites over time.
Offer a mini course, newsletter or even by providing useful and consistent content articles like this one. Once people get a taste of what you have and they like it – they will come back.
These are not the only ways to drive traffic to your business or website but they are the more popular methods to do it. Always remember to do what you believe is best for you and your opportunity and try to stay within your budget.
Blogging for Money. Two Models you can Follow.
There are two major types of business models that entrepreneurs use to make money blogging. The first and most common way to turn a blog into a profit making machine is to sell advertising to different companies and brands who want to reach that blog’s readers.
The second kind of money making blog is one that helps a single brand improve its image by creating positive associations between the blog and the product in the mind of consumers. Both kinds of blogs can make a lot of money, especially if the creator has a keen mind for marketing.
If you are blogging with the goal of selling advertising, there are two basic ways that you can go about recruiting sponsors who want to put ads on your site; you can let someone else do all of the legwork, or you can do the work yourself and keep all of the revenue. Within the first group, many people make money blogging by selling space through Google’s AdSense program.
The advantages of this program are numerous, as it requires very little effort on the part of the blogger or webmaster to begin raking in profits. However, most people discover that they make less money through this method than they had hoped that their blog would earn. Selling advertising directly to companies who want to put banner ads or sponsored links on your blog can take quite a bit of time, but it is often fairly lucrative.
If you have a lot of contacts in industries that are related to the topic of your blog, you may want to try to go this route. People who have a strong background in sales and are experienced at pitching proposals can make quite a bit of money by renting blog space to interested companies.
The most serious problem with this model is that you often have to build quite a sizable readership before you can attract advertisers, which can mean that you have to do several months of work before you start to make money blogging. As blogging becomes a more and more lucrative business, a lot of established companies are considering how they can get into the action.
One way that companies are capitalizing on the blog movement is by having blogs that provide a kind of friendly face for their corporation. Often, a company will employ an established blogger to create a weblog designed specifically to appeal to that company’s customers and to create positive associations with the brand in consumers’ minds.
More than one writer who never even dreamed that he or she could make money blogging has been approached by a company and offered quite a pretty penny for this kind of gig. If you run a small company, you may find that the world of blogging for business owners is a world that you want to be a part of. Blogging is a great way to get the word out to consumers about your product or service, and it can even be useful for inspiring employee loyalty and helping you keep your workers at peak morale.
If you are looking for a way to take your business to the next level, consider what starting a blog might be able to do for you. Blogging for business owners has a lot in common with all other types of blogging, but it has its own unique pitfalls and strengths.
The key to having a successful blog as a business owner is keeping your goals clear and concrete at every step of your blogging adventure. It can be all to easy to get sidetracked, especially if you are just learning about the exciting possibilities of blogging technology, but if you want your blog to succeed you need to stay focused.
Write up a plan for how often you will update, how you will promote your blog and retain readers, whether you will feature photographs or video, and other aspects of your blog, and then stick to it with the same kind of determination that you used when you built your company.
SEO For Your Blog.
If you’ve been using Google’s AdSense on your blog you obviously feel the need to somehow generate even more traffic to your blog website, which in turn would translate to more AdSense clicks and a higher income. How to make money from your visitors is up to what you are selling or promoting.
But how do you do this? Well, the major way you’ll get visitors to see your blog (other then using AdWords, which is encouraged as well) is to use some techniques to have search engines send more and more users towards your blog, by ranking high in search results for your topics of interest.
This is a technique, better known as search-engine optimization or simply SEO. So here are a bunch of tips that can come handy under every amateur or professional optimizer’s belt. The first thing you need to take care of is the actual source code and layout of your blog. This has to be kept as simple as possible. The problem comes when AdSense and the search engines themselves begin to have troubles in extracting the most relevant keywords on your site because of a too complex layout.
Secondly, try to have each one of your blog pages target only one specific topic. This way it is a lot easier for them to get indexed properly and for the AdSense ads to be consistent with the content of the blog itself.
Also, try not to include too many hyperlinks in your page as well. This also means you should try not to use too many AdSense ads on your page either one or two boxes is all you need. If there are certain keywords you wish to target, make sure the word you wish to target is present in the blog title, in the first paragraphs of your post as well as in the name of the page. While you’re at it you might want to ensure the word springs up in the page’s last paragraphs.
And of course, it’s very important for your content to have original and compelling content. How do you do this? Well the easiest way to do it is to find something you’re really passionate about. That way, providing you give it a lot of effort you’re bound to have a great page quite fast. If the content you use in your blog is in the public domain (which is highly discouraged) make sure that you at least give it an original title, and add an opening and a closing paragraph of your own. This takes a little while, but if, after waiting, you still can’t find your page near the top, you should try rewriting your title and your first and last paragraphs. It doesn’t take much, often just changing a few words will give you the right results to stay ahead of the competition.
And of, course there’s the use of keyword tools that may aid you in finding some good keywords to include on your blog’s theme that will drive visitors to your blog more and more. The more visitors your site gets the more opportunities you have to earn extra income. So those are about the basic techniques in search engine optimization. You can find a lot of computer tools to aid you in doing this, and of course, Google is a great place to search for this.
In the end, you’ll find that SEO is a complex topic, and entire books have been written on the topic as well. You will find that your SEO education is an ongoing process and you will be learning new things all the time.
